Hey Parents!
I wanted to take a moment to tell you about an app called Thrive. The Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) developed this app to allow parents to be an active participant in their teen’s health. This app offers conversation starters, information addressing issues kids face as they grow through adolescence, and important medical information specific for this age group.
As a former school nurse, I believe the ability to keep track of your child’s medical records is a super cool feature. One of the most important pieces of advice I gave parents is to copy all medical records and keep them in a handy file before relinquishing them to the school. However with this app, medical information is at the tip of your fingers. Super convenient. Even though my children are in their 20’s, occasionally they need some random medical information, usually vaccine history. Think how easy it would be to pull it up on your phone. Ah, technology.
